BARBOURSVILLE – After the lasso was cut, LongHorn Steakhouse officially opened its newest restaurant at the new Tanyard Station retail development complex in Barboursville.
“This is a very exciting day for us at LongHorn Steakhouse,” said Peggy Carden, the restaurant’s managing partner. “We are so excited to be part of the Barboursville community and the overall Tri-State region.”
Carden has been part of the LongHorn Steakhouse team for the past five years and said it has been a little over two years since the decision was made to open the new restaurant at Tanyard Station.
“LongHorn Steakhouse is all about quality, serving fresh, never frozen, expertly grilled and boldly seasoned steaks, chicken and fish,” she said. “The restaurant uses its very own signature seasoning blends that are specially created to complement specific cuts of meat and the way they are grilled.”
Carden says the restaurant features certified grill masters specially trained in the art of grilling.
“They’re the experts in selecting the right cut of steak, boldly seasoning and grilling to each guest’s taste,” she said.
The new 5,850-square-foot restaurant will seat more than 300 guests and currently employs 70 people, which includes servers, cooks, bartenders and more. Carden said the business also wants to give back to the community.
“Beyond serving great food, giving back to the community is a cornerstone of the LongHorn way,” she said. “We’ll host friends and family events with proceeds benefiting a local nonprofit. Additionally, through our LongHorn Steakhouse Harvest Program, we’ll harvest wholesome, unused food and donate it to a local food bank. We are especially proud of the partnership we have with Harmony House to help feed people in need in the community.”
Barboursville Mayor Chris Tatum also participated in the opening ceremony.
“We are continuing to expand the options for people in this area,” he said. “This shows that businesses continue to want to invest and develop here in Barboursville.”
