History

1950’s
- INTERSTATE formed by Simon Johnson and Vic Anderson.
- Site selection for fast food restaurants including McDonalds across the South East.
1960’s
- The INTERSTATE team continues their efforts in building the company and expanding their offerings.
1970’s
- Monne Nidiffer joins INTERSTATE as a college graduate associate and learns the business .
- Mike Nidiffer, INTERSTATE younger brother, joins INTERSTATE and becomes the youngest Licensed Broker in the State of Tennessee.
1980’s
- Monne and Mike purchase INTERSTATE from Simon Johnson .
- Mike becomes an appraiser holding the RM and SRA designation while working under MAI Melvin Legg.
1990’s
- Brent Roswall buys 50% of INTERSTATE .
- Shoppes at Roan, a 30,000 SF multi-tenant retail center in Johnson City, TN opens – INTERSTATE’s 1st multi-tenant development. Still owned by INTERSTATE today.
- Spradlin Farm puts INTERSTATE over 1 Million SF developed and Managed.
2000’s
- Merritt Creek Farm (Barboursville, WV) construction underway, 1st Target and Starbucks in the State of WV. Featured on the Dave Letterman show.
- University Town Center (Morgantown, WV) (750,000 sq ft) is developed, INTERSTATE’s 3rd Target Center in 3 years, putting INTERSTATE over 2 Million SF developed and managed.
- 2005 - INTERSTATE Realty now over $75 MM in sales/lease.
2010’s
- University Town Center phase 2 is built adding AC Moore and bringing INTERSTATE total developed and managed to over 3 million square feet.
- Tanyard Station phase 1 is developed bringing the first Menards to the State of WV pushing INTERSTATE to over 4 million sq ft developed and managed.
2020’s
- Stadium Center (8,060 sq ft) is developed across from Marshall University, Brents alma mater.
- Tanyard Station phase 2 (150,000 sq ft) gets underway building Academy, Petsmart, Skechers and INTERSTATE’s 3rd Starbucks.Tanyard Station phase 2 (150,000 sq ft) gets underway building Academy, Petsmart, Skechers and INTERSTATE’s 3rd Starbucks.
- Chase Roswall, Affiliate broker, Joins INTERSTATE.
